We want to take this time to say THANK YOU to Marshall Hunter ’92 for his continued support of Alpha Tau Chapter of Kappa Sigma over the years. We recently caught up with Marshall and asked him about where life has taken him, Kappa Sigma memories, and what Alpha Tau Chapter means to him today. Here’s what he had to say.
Why have you remained so dedicated to Kappa Sigma?
Mainly because being a Kappa Sigma had such an positive impact in my life when I was at Georgia Tech. That impact continues to this day. Being a Kappa Sig helped me survive Georgia Tech and no doubt helped set me up for success post-graduation. I was part of a larger Pledge Class during those times – we were initiated in 1987 – and most all of us remain close today. Those long lasting and strong friendships – with brothers older and younger than I am – that were cemented during my days as an undergrad are ones that I cherish to this day. It truly is a brotherhood and one that is unique in the Fraternity landscape.
How has being in Kappa Sigma changed your life?
To add to the above answer, it helped me mature as a young adult. Chapter meetings helped me learn to speak up, debate issues and become a better man. No doubt being an Alpha Tau helped me develop self-confidence and the ability to look at things from different perspectives. Knowing I have a brotherhood made up of men who “have my back” is something I recognize as special and not as common as you see with other Fraternities.
